What started as a basic kitchen remodel/ addition in the Berkeley Hills soon expanded to include simple yet dramatic adjustments to the home's existing floor plan. The new plan reoriented the inward focus of the home toward the exterior, thus showcasing a quiet glade-like forest setting in the rear yard and a stunning view of the San Francisco Bay to the west. While the existing exterior detail vocabulary of the building was respected, the home's interior design pallette was transformed from boxy square rooms to free flowing, light filled, interconnected spaces.
